Supplies:

Kool Tak™ 1 Layer Perfect (Use it for centering, piercing,
and edge stitching) Tool
Kool Tak™ 1 Shiny Transfer Foil Sheets (Earth Tones)
Kool Tak™ Clear Foam tape ¼ x ¼ x 1/32” thick
Kool Tak™ Premium EXTREME 2 ½ x 27 yards
Wool Blend Felt from National Nonwovens; one 12 x 18”, Grape Jelly, Licorice, Pea Soup, Pumpkin Spice Fusible Web Foam core board – 11 ½” x 17 ½”

Embellishments; keyhole brad, Halloween style beads, foil cutouts, pompoms, decorative threads etc.

Basic sewing supplies: Westcott Non-stick Scissors, sewing machine,   thread, iron etc.

Step One

Press fusible web to the back of an 8” x 13 ½” rectangle of Pea Soup felt. Use the Kool Tak™ 1 Layer Perfect to place marks spaced ¼ apart along the outside edges. Remove paper backing from fusible web as you are stitching through the felt, sew a blanket stitch around the outside using the marks as a guide for placement of your stitches.

Use the Kool Tak™ 1 Layer Perfect to align the Pea Soup rectangle to the center of the Licorice rectangle. Remove paper backing and fuse in place. Top stitch through all layers of the felt, stitching  ¼” inside the edge. Repeat pressing fusible web to the back of Grape Jelly felt rectangle. Cut out upper and lower inside door panels; a 2 ½” x 5 ¼” rectangle for the lower panel and a 8 ½” x 5 ¼” rectangle with a rounded top for the upper panel.  Use the Kool Tak™ 1 Layer Perfect to align the Grape Jelly door panels to the center of the Pea Soup rectangle leaving a ½” space between the two panels. Remove paper backing and fuse in place.. Top stitch through all layers of the felt, stitching as many rows as desired.

Step Two

Use the Kool Tak™ 1 Layer Perfect and a marking pen to mark a 3 ½” x 6” rectangle onto the center of the upper door panel. Using Westcott non-stick scissors, cut pieces of Kool Tak™ Premium EXTREME at various angle to fill in the window panel. Adhere inside the marked panel directly onto the felt. Do not remove the paper backing until the entire surface is covered. Remove one section of the paper backing at a time and rub the matte side of the Kool Tak™ 1 Shiny Transfer Foil Sheets (White) to the sticky surface. Repeat until the widow is covered.

Step Three

Outline the window panel and cross bar using Kool Tak™ Clear Foam tape mitering the corners. Remove paper backing and rub the matte side of the Kool Tak™ 1 Shiny Transfer Foil Sheets (Copper) to the sticky surface.

Finishing your design

Cut address numbers from fusible web backed felt, press to the lower door panel. Add stitching lines around the broken glass on the window panels, to create pompom bats and alongside the address numbers. Insert keyhole brad.

Cover the entire surface of the foam core with Kool Tak™ Premium EXTREME. Center your design onto the foam core and press into the tape. Use straight pins to wrap felt around and cover the edges of the foam core. Attach hanger if desired.

Use Kool Tak™ Clear Foam tape ¼ x ¼ x 1/32” thick squares to adhere additional embellishments to your design.
