Decorative Trimmings Outdoor Wedding Scape Final

Two of my four brothers were married in April, so April just says wedding to me. Through the combination of burlap ribbon in two widths, and assorted trims from Decorative Trimmings I created a table runner, napkin rings, chair bows with place cards and covered a lampshade for intimate lighting. Whether you choose to sew or glue your own table accessories, choosing the right trims for your project might not be so easy as the selection is just wonderful. In my post I will walk you through how to create your very own napkin rings and table runners.

4 & 6 inch wide burlap ribbon

Two 1/2 inch buttons

Glue gun & glue sticks

Sewing machine as well as ironing, measuring and sewing supplies.

Napkin Ring How To:

Cut one 6 inch length of 4 inch burlap ribbon for each napkin ring.

Stitch trims to the burlap ribbon, starting at the center point and working your way to the edge of the ribbon. The number of trims will be determined by the width of each trim you have chosen.

Fold the burlap ribbon in half, right sides together and stitch using a 1/2 inch seam. Turn right side out.

Create a figure eight loop of trim. Glue the bow, topped with a button to the center top of the napkin ring.

Table Runner How To:

Determine the length of the table runner by measuring the table and adding the drop down each side. Add 2 inches to the measurement and cut a piece of 6 inch wide burlap this length.

In the sample project, trim was stitched 1 inch from either edge down the length of the ribbon. A second row of trim was then stitched along the inside edge of the first rows.

Fold each of the runner ends in half right sides together and stitch using a 1/2 inch seam. Turn right side out and press carefully, forming a point at each end.
